Earth In Focus 2026 opened on Sunday 1 November with a day for the Malayan tiger: a talk and charcoal workshop at LASALLE College of the Arts in the afternoon, and an outdoor screening of The Tiger’s World at the Singapore Botanic Gardens in the evening. Thank you to everyone who came. Here are some of our favourite photographs from the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined Melissa De Silva for A Tiger on the Campus. Her talk looked at the threats facing the critically endangered Malayan tiger and the work to protect it; then, in the studio, she showed the charcoal marks behind her drawings, and guests tried them on tigers of their own.

Alex Jack, General Manager and Head of Conservation at the Malaysian Conservation Collective (MyCC), spoke about their work for the Malayan tiger. Half of every ticket goes to MyCC for tiger conservation.

Thank you to Melissa, who gave the talk and workshop pro bono, and to LASALLE College of the Arts for hosting us.

The Tiger’s World (Singapore Botanic Gardens)

The same evening, a full lawn at the Singapore Botanic Gardens watched The Tiger’s World, a silent outdoor screening of remote-camera footage from the Malaysian rainforest, with the sound on each guest’s phone. Carmen Pang and Vilma D’Rozario, co-founders of the Singapore Wildcat Action Group (SWAG), opened the evening, and Lara Ariffin, President of RIMAU, which co-produced the film with NuVista, introduced it.
